This is a few pics over the last month of some changes. Just like everything there is a ton more I want to do but the money is running out so thats it for now.
I finally contacted the buyer again and he agreed to go ahead and give me the Jeep for a small down payment until the title arrived. So the day I go pick it up the title also just showed up in the mail! So finally it is completely mine. I spent the day cleaning out what appeared to be years of dirt. I just placed my first order for a few small things I need (floor plugs, glove box, windshield wipers and dash indicator for my lights). The next thing on my list is to have the muffler moved to the back of the vehicle because right now it comes out of the side and I can’t hear. I also smell like exhaust every time I ride. I am also going to get the steering fixed. I expect some play in the steering but it has about half a turn of play. And then I want to get some chrome wagon wheels just like the ones I have now but chrome. Even with all the little things to fix, I’m just glad to finally have my Jeep!
So I am currently in the process of purchasing a 1980 CJ7 Jeep. I have always loved Jeeps and used to own a 1984 CJ7 but had to sell it because I had it during a time when I was spending more money on it than I was making. I took the Jeep for a test drive at the end of July and decided that day that I wanted to buy it. I just wish it was that simple. The previous owner lost the title and had to apply for a new one but the state called him and told him that the VIN number they have on file doesn’t match what he has. So now I have been waiting over a month for some news and the pictures I have are starting to grow old. I just want to drive it and have it in my possession. I am patiently waiting (if you talk to my wife I’m not sure she would agree) but if we haven’t heard from the state soon we have a plan B in process. The Jeep has a rebuilt 304 V8 engine, rebuilt automatic transmission and little to no rust. As you can see in the pictures it hasn’t been butchered but does need some TLC to get it back the way I would like it.
